FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is required for my tow vehicle?
The tow vehicle must be equipped with a 7 way round trailer connector and wiring for a brake controller. A 4 wire flat connector will not work. Per Virginia (and most every state) law all trailers rated at 3,000 pounds or more are required to have brakes. All of our campers are equipped with electric brakes. Your tow vehicle must have a working trailer brake controller. We have a wireless controller available as an add on if your vehicle is not equipped with a controller. Check your vehicle’s tow rating to make sure you choose a camper it will safely tow. All our campers have weight distributing ant sway hitches installed. We provide the drawbar for your vehicle’s 2” receiver.
  • What is included with the camper?
All our campers are equipped with all necessary equipment to set up and hookup the camper at the campsite. We provide an outdoor rug and at least two camp chairs. In the kitchens we provide pots and pans, utensils, cutting boards, large bowls, colander, dishes, glasses (plastic), silverware, coffee maker, coffee cups, paper towels, sponges, towels, pot holder, dish drainer, dishwashing liquid and aluminum foil. In the bathroom we include toilet paper and hand soap. For the beds we supply sheets and pillows for each bed. Every camper has at least one blanket in it. We provide S’mor’s sticks!
  • What about insurance?
All our campers are covered by our commercial insurance policy. Your auto insurance should cover liability if you are in an at fault accident. If you are unsure about that, ask your agent. Additional coverage and roadside assistance is offered during booking if you desire it.
  • Can I smoke inside the campers?
All our campers are smoke free. This includes tobacco, marijuana, any drugs and vaping.
  • Do you allow pets?
We all love our furry family members so we have part of our campers designated as pet friendly. Even in those campers we don’t allow cats due to their claws and the faux leather used in the RV industry. We also ask that dogs not be allowed on any furniture. Please don’t allow them to urinate on the outdoor rugs.
  • Do you deliver?
We deliver up to 100 road miles. Delivery includes delivery of the camper to the campsite or your house. Setup of the camper, instructions on how everything works and then pickup and tank dumping at the conclusion of your rental period. The Delivery Fee is $4 per mile with a $200 minimum. For a 100 mile delivery we have to drive 400 mile total. There, back, there, back. The one exception is that we will deliver to Americamps in Ashland, Va. for a charge of $75.
  • Can we use a generator to power the camper?
Yes, if it is a generator designated as safe to use with a RV. These are pure sinewave inverter generators. The electronics are too sensitive to be powered by the typical “construction” generators that are made to run work lights, power tools, etc. All our campers have 30 amp RV plugs so the twist lock on those generators doesn’t match. We have generators available as an add on if you want to dry camp somewhere. We camp a lot in the National Parks and Forests where there are no electric connections so we understand the generator need.
